A felted runner with a soft cloud border, made for corridors and bedside use.
The runner is felted rather than knotted, which gives it a denser, quieter surface that absorbs sound in hallways and along the side of a bed. Felting is done in the studio from carded local wool, then rolled and dried slowly so the shape holds without a rigid backing.
Long hallways, entryways, and the strip of floor beside a bed. The felted surface stays flat under doors and does not curl at the ends.
Spot-clean with cool water and a wool-safe detergent. Rotate every few months so the wear spreads evenly across the length.
Current pieces are finished and held at the Johannesburg showroom. Custom lengths are quoted from floor plans when the wool batch allows.
Swatch cards are available on request. Browse the full range on the products page.

Felting and finishing lead, Himalaya Rug Co
I have been working with Himalayan wool for eleven years, most of that on the felted side of the studio rather than the loom floor. The felted runners come through my bench: carding, laying the cloud border, rolling, and the slow drying that decides whether the runner keeps its shape after a season in a hallway. I am the one who checks the undyed band at each end, because that narrow strip is where a runner either looks settled or looks cut short.
If you are measuring a corridor or the side of a bed, send the length in centimetres and I will tell you honestly whether the current wool batch can carry it. Some batches felt tighter than others, and I would rather say no than send out a runner that sags at the middle.
For the felted runner itself, the measurements, wool notes and care points are on the runner page. Swatch cards and floor-plan quotes go through the contact desk.
