These terms cover how orders move from a written agreement to a rug on the loom, and what both sides are responsible for along the way. They apply to trade buyers, interior stylists, and homeowners ordering from the working catalogue.
An order is only confirmed once the measurement, weave, and fibre blend are agreed in writing. Verbal discussions at the showroom or over the phone are treated as enquiries, not commitments. If a listing shows a wool and silk percentage, that figure is the one that applies to your order.
Custom sizes are scheduled on the loom after a deposit is received, and the remaining balance falls due before the rug leaves the finishing studio. Because each piece is woven to order, the loom slot is reserved specifically for your commission once the deposit clears.
The approximate weeks stated per custom size are estimates based on current cooperative schedules. Weather, wool batch availability, and dyeing time can shift these figures. We will tell you if a timeline changes before the rug is finished, not after.
Undyed natural greys and natural-dye rugs shift in tone across the field. Slight differences in colour, texture, and knot spacing are part of handknotted and flatwoven work and are not treated as faults. Swatch cards are sent before final commitment so you can see the actual batch.
Trade buyer accounts are handled separately from retail enquiries, with their own confirmation process. Floor plans you send are used solely to prepare a made-to-measure quote and are not shared or reused for other purposes.
Johannesburg showroom viewings are by appointment. The care notes we provide on rotation, underlay, and dry cleaning of wool form part of these terms, and following them is what keeps a handknotted or felted piece in good condition over the years.
We may update these terms as our cooperative schedules and studio processes change. The version in effect at the time your order is confirmed is the one that applies to that order.
