Lotus Medallion Handknotted Rug, 100-Knot Tibetan Wool
Undyed ivory field with a deep indigo lotus medallion, woven in a Kathmandu valley cooperative.
The lotus medallion comes from older Tibetan carpet cartoons, redrawn here at a slightly smaller scale so the border still reads generously on a standard living-room footprint. Wool is sourced from high-altitude sheep in the upper Kali Gandaki region, spun and carded by hand, then dyed with indigo and madder in small batches. Pile height sits at roughly 8 mm, which keeps the surface soft underfoot while still showing knot definition in raking light.
